New release from Secret Archives of the Vatican: Damascene

December 25, 2015

We’ve been planning a collaborations album for some time but started having some major computer problems in the studio that persisted throughout 2015. Well, that project is about to be restarted for 2016 and hopefully technical issues won’t slow things down too much.

In the meantime, however, we’ve just released a new five track download album for your delight and delectation.

It’s called Damascene. As ever, we don’t stick to 4/4 time signatures, standard structural paradigms or Western tuning systems – although sometimes we do!   There are repeated rhythmic and melodic motifs, there is a hint of King Crimson-esque prog sensibility, there is a subtle crate-digger influence and we ask the question: What would Bill Laswell do? All of this within a breakbeat, dub and dubstep framework, straight outta the Cronx.  We’ve also included some track-specific artwork.

The release is available as a free download from Bandcamp, or you can choose to pay. We believe music has value and any payment you offer helps us to continue to make music.
