Music sale falls ‘slow in 2009’

A BBC news item reveals that according to the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA), music sales only dropped by 0.8% in 2009 – the lowest fall for five years.

ERA‘s members – including Tesco, HMV, Amazon and many of independents – account for more than 90% of video, games and music sales in the UK.

No doubt, however, bodies representing the big record labels will continue to bleat about so-called ‘piracy’ killing sales and will make completely contrary claims about sales in 2009.
