Warp Records launches download store.

January 30, 2009

Warp is one of the coolest record labels there is. Fact.

It has launched a download store, Beep.com. It is at beta testing stage for the moment, but you can check it out here: http://beta.bleep.com/

The site merges with their existing Warpmart store and adds new features such as a stronger focus on editorial content, a bigger catalogue of physical products, a new personal music player and a new look and design.

Sadly it’s not all good news for independent labels. Cornish Music at http://cornishmusic.com is closing at the end of March 2009.

    Their site says:

The dwindling number of independent retailers and the increasing difficulties for independent labels to obtain distribution has effectively brought an end to our business. The on-line shop will stay open until this date so grab some wonderful cornish music while you can

I thoroughly recommend that you get down there and buy yourself a copy of Bagas Degol’s “Party like it’s 1399” – the best Cornish Bagpipe Dub Reggae Band you’ll ever hear!

I think the comment above probably belongs with the next post on this blog, not this one….Wordpress got confused! (Maybe)

Let us know what you think of this post. Thanks!
