Musicians’ trip to Morocco

Some people we met earlier this year at the nomads’ festival in M’hamid al Ghizlane in the Moroccan Sahara have set up a company called Scheherazadventures which offers a variety of adventure tours in the Moroccan Sahara. The company was founded by English radio broadcaster, Rachel Blech, in partnership with Abdoul Hajja, from the Moroccan Sahara, who has many years experience in desert tourism.
We chatted about music related trips and now they’ve announced the first one,
IRISH-SAHARA MUSIC SESSIONS . It’s a trip with legendary Irish bodhran player Tommy Hayes.

The trip will include musical tuition and workshops with Tommy Hayes, impromptu sessions and community interactivity throughout, desert jamming in the Sahara with nomads, 4×4 travelling with escort, optional camel ride and community participation. Time will be spent in Agadir, Taroudant, Taliouine, Ouarzazate, the Sous and Drâa Valleys and the Saharan village of M’Hamid el Ghizlane.

Not a cheap trip but awesome and worth the money!
