This is a BBC article about music fanzines and a project by the National Library of Scotland to catalogue their history. Fanzines can be seen, in some ways, as the music blogs of the era before the internet. They were made by music fans, they often dealt with music that was far from mainstream radio fodder and they are an important part of our culture.
